みずほコーポレート銀行は２１日、米中堅投資銀行エバコア・パートナーズに出資することで合意したと発表した。みずほコーポレート銀行はエバコアが発行する１億２０００万ドル（約１３０億円）の新株予約権付社債を取得し、役員を派遣する。社債を株式に転換した場合の議決権は１４・７％となる。 米低所得者向け住宅融資「サブプライムローン」問題による金融機関の経営不振の波が全米に広がり、経営破たんする金融機関が増えている。米連邦預金保険公社（ＦＤＩＣ）は２６日に全米の金融機関の不良債権処理にかかった２００８年第２四半期の費用が前年同期の４・４倍に膨らんだと発表した。住宅関連融資の焦げ付きなどが要因だ。経営不振の金融機関は、融資を絞り込むため、米景気をさらに冷え込ませる恐れがあるが、世界的な原油や資源高で米経済はインフレ懸念にも直面しており、米金融当局は難しい政策判断を迫られている。 ゆうちょ銀の貯金は、多くの金融機関の現金自動預け払い機（ＡＴＭ）で預け入れや引き出しができる。しかし、口座番号の入力が必要となる振り込みは、新生銀行やスルガ銀行など提携先の２８金融機関との間でしかできなかった。全銀システムへ接続すると、銀行、信用金庫など約１４４０の民間金融機関との相互振り込みが可能になる。 保険業法は、保険会社が自社に不利な契約を経営基盤の弱い同業者に売却したり、子会社に押しつけるなど、契約者に不利な事業譲渡ができないよう、保有契約の部分譲渡を制限している。
